Module 1: Basics of mobilising support

There are many reasons for local organisations to mobilise support for changes in their community. This module introduces different approaches to mobilise support (also called lobby or advocacy) in your community.

Why

CBOs and NGOs want to improve the living conditions of the people they serve. Mobilising support seeks for more systematic and lasting solutions through support from other citizens and from national or local authorities.

What you can expect

This introductory module explains how the different approaches to mobilise support can help trigger positive change. Different actors present the examples of their own organisations and let you discover the strategy for conducting effective lobby actitivities.

Knowledge and Skills

You will learn the difference between mobilising support and service delivery. With this understanding, you reflect on whether these approaches are already part of your organisation's activities, or could become so.
