First phase of Local Fundraising Course targeting organisations starts in Salvador, Brazil
Patricia Gordano, coordinator of Communication at CESE and one of the facilitators of the course, believes that cultural diversity was an important factor for the exchanges of experiences: “The participation of each group, their experiences, their social relations and the way they are being affected by the political context made it possible to inherit experiences, to adapt local reality and to better respond to the challenges of mobilising resources in Brazil,” she said.
The training learning approach is a combination of in-class and online learning and the latter happens through Virando o Jogo web portal. It aimed to discuss mobilisation as a strategy for institutional sustainability; to support the planning, construction and monitoring of a plan for mobilising local resources and assist the groups for them to build communication tools capable of motivating individuals to engage in the causes of these organisations.
“Learning at Virando o Jogo portal may happen without the need of face-to-face interaction. Organisations interested in the mobilisation of resources can register on the website for free, access the materials presented at the workshop, post exercises and acquire information at their own pace”, said Patricia.
The course is part of Virando o Jogo program, and it is developed in Brazil by CESE, in a partnership with Wilde Ganzen organisation and MDF. The training, which is in three phases, includes two face-to-face meetings and one online meeting, with the presentation of a virtual seminar and individual tutoring.
