Community Score Card

The Burkinabe partners of the 'Giving for Change' programme are committed to contributing to a fair and just society where there is open civic space, where all citizens can express themselves freely and where citizens can organise and exercise their rights. It is in this context that a module has been developed on the 'Community Score Card'.

Why

The Community Score Card is an ongoing participatory tool for assessment, planning, monitoring and evaluation of services. It is easy to use and can be adapted into any sector where there is a service delivery scenario and enables reporting on services provided, inclusive activities between service providers, service users and local authoritiesto share responsibilities with a view to improving the services.

What you can expect

The Community Score Card brings together the demand side ("service user") and the supply side ("service provider") of a particular service or programme to jointly analyse issues underlying service delivery problems and find a common and shared way of addressing those issues.

Knowledge and Skills

The module explains the purpose, characteristics, usefulness and importance of the Community Score Card. The module guides you through the planning and preparation of the CSC, then the setting up of the CSC, first with the community and then with the service providers, followed by the interface meeting and the drafting of an action plan. Finally, you arrive at the implementation of the action plan, including monitoring and evaluation.
