Resumen

Mera Parivar first formulated the objectives they wanted to achieve with their action and then decided which company would be most suitable to approach. They contacted the company by phone and managed to fix a time for a meeting. In order to prepare for the meeting information was exchanged through email. During the meeting the Managing Director had many questions to ask, but Mera Parivar came well prepared and could answer them all. After the meeting a senior executive visited Ashok Vihar Centre, Gurgaon, to get better acquainted with the centre, talk to the young people and children about their challenges and difficulties and encourage them to continue their education. The company, Daffodils Software, also provided INR 300.000 for the Youth Programme, to be used for rent and other structural costs.

Mera Parivar fully acknowledges that taking action for the integration of youth is more important today than ever before. India has the world’s largest youth population. In our NGO we work to meet the needs and aspirations of young people that will define our common future. The aim is to transform the lives of many youth and help them become entrepreneurs so that they participate in the economic and social development of India. Mera Parivar’s interventions concentrate on youth migrated from villages to cities with the hope of finding a good carrier, often dropping their studies without being aware of the harmful consequences. Unaware of the available career opportunities, these youth urgently need guidance and counsel to avoid wasting time and moving in the wrong direction. While their families are unaware of the importance of youth education or unable to support it, Mera Parivar´s Youth Empowerment programme helps young people in the community to be aware of and access better opportunities for their future. Apart from developing their professional career, youth are also acquiring self-empowerment skills and following personality guidance and training.

Mera Parivar has opened two youth centres in Rajiv Nagar and Ashok Vihar (Gurgaon) offering comprehensive skill-development programmes and vocational training opportunities. Youth follow classes on Computer basics, Retail Management, Office management, Career Guidance, Personality Development, Interview facing and English speaking.

2. To raise funds for the project.
3. To create job opportunities for youth.
