Module 5: Fundraising plan for a project
When you write a fundraising plan for a project, there are several issues to take into account, like: which elements of the project might appeal to what type of donor? And what type of fundraising techniques can best be used for a specific type of donor? Building on work done in modules 2 and 3, this module helps you develop a fundraising plan.
Why
If fundraising for a project is to be successful, you need to carefully consider your options, inventorise possibilities, make choices, plan activities in time, make a calculation of what each activity will cost and of how much it will bring in, and decide who will do what. A plan that pays attention to all these elements, and more, helps to make the right choices and is a necessary tool for success.
What you can expect
In this module you will learn the various steps needed to make a fundraising plan for a project. These are the steps you will be guided through:
- Choosing a project and identifying the needs for this project
- Identifying different options for support: in cash, in-kind and in volunteer time
- Deciding which donor groups you will target
- Deciding which fundraising techniques you will choose
- Detailing the chosen activities
- And finally bringing it all together in a plan.
By the end of this module you will have your fundraising plan ready. Have a look at the examples of such a plan and get started!
