Step 5: Climax of a Story

Something happens near the end of the story, to release the tension that has built up during the struggle from the story problem. In this climax, there is a resolution to the story problem. The mystery is unfolded. Watch this video to understand how to compose your story. Then, do the final exercise, in which you construct your storyboard!

Exercise

Summarise the following elements of your story on post-its or index cards and follow the steps to build your story

  1. the ending/implication of your story
  2. the beginning/story problem
  3. the story climax
  • Brainstorm what is needed to connect the beginning with the climax and write down a maximum of three of these ideas.
  • Put all cards on the table, from left to right.
  • Puzzle until your story has a nice tension build up and a compelling resolution.
