Module 3: Context analysis

In this module, you will learn how to make a good context analysis, involving your stakeholders and beneficiaries. This highly increases the success of your initiative.

Why

If you thoroughly understand the context in which you work, you will be able to design a good mobilising support strategy. Therefore, learning how to make a context analysis is crucial for the success of your activities.

What you can expect

In this module, you will learn how to formulate the policy issue and the solution (the early message). You will reflect on the expectations of the beneficiaries, how to involve them, and you will learn different ways to deal with your allies and opponents. Finally, you will analyse the decision making process that you wish to change.

Knowledge and Skills

At the end of this module, you will have learned how to analyse the context of your problem, including your own organisation, how to include the wishes of your beneficiaries, how to distinguish between allies and opponents, and how to know when you should focus on lobby for compliance of existing rules, or to push for a new policy decision.
