Module 5: Communication skills
In this module you will learn how to communicate your mobilising support message better. We will zoom in on positioning and delivering skills through listening, framing, writing, presenting and negotiating.
Why
When you have formulated a mobilising support plan, skills such as active listening, presenting, negotiating and writing are needed to be successful in communicating your message.
What you can expect
You will learn to make a distinction between positioning and delivering a message. Profiling your audience, active listening and choosing the right frame are skills to position your mobilising support initiative in the right way. Through writing, presenting and negotiating you deliver your message effectively.
Knowledge and Skills
At the end of this module you are able to choose the right audience for each message, to listen better to what is (not) being said, and how to interview your beneficiaries. Also, you have chosen the right frame for your initiative, for example by talking about rights instead of needs. Through lobby visits, complaint letters, presentations and negotiation you can convince your stakeholders of your position.
